Letting go: Life-changing Finding Nemo quote

Just being nostalgic, after watching Finding Nemo last night with the family. :) At the right place at the right time, a quote from a kid's film can change your life...

Our Chance Encounter of the Port of Lost Wonder

Port of Lost Wonder (POLW) - Singapore's First Kids' Club by the Beach. It's one of the newest attractions in Sentosa, specifically intended for kids! :) It's a pirate-themed swimming resort that offers a lot of attractions and facilities for the whole family.

Last week, we had no intention of going here. We originally planned to take the cable car and get off at Beach station, then walk towards the Southernmost Point of Continental Asia to have our picnic there. Along the way past the carpark building, we got a glimpse of this huge pirate ship and right then and there we decided to go in and have our picnic there.

Obviously, that was a good call. :)

TIP: POLW is the first stop of the Palawan-Tanjong Beach tram from Beach Station. Can't miss it.

BULALO! Oh Bulalo!

Every now and then, we want a taste of home and have one of our favorite delicacies. It's pretty rare that we look specifically for bulalo, but when we do, we always end up disappointed: Meat was not tender; wrong type of meat; wrong type of bone; not enough meat; you name it. I think we've been served every type of disappointment in the bulalo department for the last five years we've been in SG.

That changed tonight.

Homemade Valentine's Day Dinner

Wifey went home early to prepare this meal for us. :)
Meal consists of medium-well steak-ala-pobre (or as we call it, the Poor-Man's Steak), tuna spaghetti, and choose-your-own-dressing salad.

Pork Ribs Sinigang for Lunch

It's been a while since I cooked food for the folks. This is one of my favorites! I didn't have all the ingredients here, though, so I had to make do with what I had.

Riley drunk with Milk

Taken the other day. He was sooooo sleepy he ended up sleeping in that position, right next to his half-full milkbottle. Yep, one of those precious moments. :)

Flashback: Riley's First Month Footprints

I was going through some files looking for some of Riley's documents because I remembered that I was supposed to get the Philippine government certified registration of birth. (See here.) Then I saw this:

Riley's good hair day!

I posted this picture of Riley in Instagram the other day. :)
This is what you get when you tie the curly hair of a baby boy who doesn't want his hair to be tied up :)

First thing that comes to my mind is Mister Swabe. Also, Ace Ventura. :)

The first "Can" Glass: GREEN

Just bought my McDonald's upsized McChicken meal to get this glass.

Unlike previous McDo glasses, this is not made by Luminarc. This is manufactured by Pasabahce Cam Sanayii, based in Istanbul, Turkey.

My IT Show 2011 Loot - Sepom Photopapers

The best place to get cheap photopapers? Go to the SEPOM booth. Every year, they have always been on the 6th floor and always had the same offer.

Each pack of 20 A4 (standard bond paper size) photopapers sell between 15 and 20 dollars. It's either a "Buy-1-Take-1" or "Buy-2-Take-3"!

My IT Show 2011 Loot - Printer Inks

IT Shows are always a good place to get good deals for printers. Whether buying a new printer or buying supplies such as print cartridges and photo papers.

We have a Canon Pixma MP640 printer which has 5 separate print cartridges: 1 for b&w document printing and 4 for colored printing (CMY + black; yep that's two black inks).

It just so happens that they are still selling the set of print cartridge (code 821) for SGD 88 per set. You also get SGD 10 voucher for NTUC Fairprice. Not a bad deal.. So I bought two sets. :)

      Scorecard: 10-9 (Pacman-Clottey)

      General Observations:
Pacman is almost always on the offensive, getting in throwing combinations, then stepping out. His combined power and quickness was a little too much for Clottey to mount an offensive of his own.

Clottey is almost always on the defensive, his long arms firmly guarding his face and uppper torso, forcing Pacman to throw combinations to the side and lower torso. But he has scored more uppercuts than Pacman, and the power and effect of those uppercuts are apparent on the closing rounds of the match.

Great respect for each other is clearly visible. This is one of the more "feel-good" fights for Pacquiao. One of those rare moments when sportsmanship is observed by both fighters in the ring.

      Official Result:
Manny Pacman Pacquiao retains WBO Welterweight
      Winner by Unanimous Decision

      Duane Ford: 120-108
      Levi Martinez: 119-109
      Nelson Vazquez: 119-109

The reason why I stayed up late

Or why my body clock broke down again.

After our Malacca trip, I didn't sleep the whole night. I just spent the night watching over this beautiful sight...

The living room brightened up by the Christmas tree.

      Christmas along Orchard Road

Our wedding anniversary stay in Quincy Hotel wouldn't be complete withoout a trip down Orchard Road. Although we didn't have enough time and energy to stroll down the entire length of Orchard Road -- there's simply too much to see -- we did get to see the best of the malls along Orchard Road have to offer.
