Disney Junior Asia Preview at Hatched

Hi to everyone at the Disney Junior Asia preview at Hatched earlier! :)

The special preview of Disney Junior was presented by Nancy Kanter, SVP and MG of Disney Junior Worldwide. They have invited several bloggers who got a sneakpeek of what to expect in Disney Junior this July. She came prepared as we were all provided with some fact sheets about the channel and it's featured shows.

With the rebranding to Disney Junior, the programs shown will be selected specifically for children from 2 years to 7 years old.


PROGRAM LINE-UP
And here are some shots of the program lineup:

Current Series in Playhouse Disney to be carried over to Disney Junior:

• Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
• Handy Manny
• Jungle Junction
• Imagination Movers
• Special Agent Oso

Jake and the Never Land Pirates - new featured series to premier this July as well.

Upcoming series (no scheduled premiere/airing yet or still under development):

• Doc McStuffins - a pretend doctor who cures sickness of all stuffed toys;
• Minnie's Bowtoons and Minnie's Bow-tique Hotel - spin-off from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse episode "Minnie's Bow-tique";
• Sofia the First - a girl who dreams of becoming a princess; somewhat similar to Cinderella;
• Oki's Oasis - western-themed series;
• The 7D - a new take on the seven dwarves;
• The Happy Hugglewugs - story about a family of monsters;

Note that the upcoming series are led by female characters. They said that this is to balance out with the current lineup which are led primarily by male characters.


OTHER UPCOMING FEATURES

Disney Junior Movies - similar to what is being done in the Disney Channel, except that movies shown are specifically for the Disnet Junior target audience.

Disney Shorts - the in-betweeners/intermissions between main programs. Some of the lined up shorts include:

• Sam Sandwich -- focus on good nutrition and proper eating;
• Choo Choo Soul - same as before, but now features Disney songs;
• A Poem Is... - poetry featuring voices of famous actors/artists and visuals from Disney classic movies.
