How to Begin Simplifying your Life

Want to simplify your life? You want a simpler life? Want to take control of your life? Here’s some ideas for you:

Think it. Believe it. Want it.
Everything that you do, starts from what within your mind. You want to keep your life simple? Well, it all starts from within you. You must think it. You must believe it. Thoughts before actions. The old Pharmaton commercial should come to mind. (What the mind can conceive, the body can achieve or something like that.)

So if you want a simpler happier life, you must FIRST believe that you can have a simple and happier life. You must believe and you must WANT it. Obsess with it even. :)

Check the books about "Law of Attraction" and the like. Once you take that in, it will change your life.


De-clutter.
Your surroundings usually affect your thoughts so in order to think about simplicity, you must surround yourself with a simple, uncluttered environment. Sift through your hoard, then get rid of things that you don't need or don't use.

Ideally, it should be the other way around. Your thoughts influence your actions that influence your environment. It should not be the environment that influences your thoughts. If you remain a slave to your environment, you will remain powerless to control and simplify your life. But since you're just beginning to train your brain to think this way, every bit helps. It's just the start.

I know. It's easier said than done. But again, you must first want it. That way, it would be easier for you to let go of your stuff. Get rid of it, sell it on eBay, garage sale, whatever takes your fancy.


Write it.
Thoughts are fleeting. Some more than others. You want to remind yourself what you set out to do. So write it down somewhere. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a diary or journal that you never read again. It could just be a simple note you place on your fridge. What's important is that it should be something that you read or see everyday.

It could be anything that will help remind you of your goal. Anything that whenever you look at it, you automatically remember "I should be doing this." Or "This is how I'm taking back control."

Basically, it's a visual cue that reminds you of your goal to simplify your life. :)


Reading back the things above, I realize it could be a little bit vague, depending on the person reading. All I'm gonna say is, if you understand, then good for you. You're already in that stage when you can already accept and understand these things I've written, and you're in the cusp of reclaiming your life, as it were. :)

If you don't understand yet but you think you still want this goal… well, you're actually closer to it than you might realize. First and foremost, the keyword is think. It all starts there. :)

My advise, take some time to reflect. Read a book or something. :)
